Municipal Corporation of Faridabad- Property Tax and Digital India
I am attaching two newspaper reports regarding property tax notices in Faridabad. Surprisingly the concerned department i.e Municipal Corporation of Faridabad even in todays Ditial World has raised wrong bills. As an example I have got a house of 160 Sq. yard and paying house tax bills for the past more than 30 years. The size of the plot has now been stated as 450 sq. yd. So far nothing wrong as the mistakes are bound to occur. Shockingly it asks the residents to visit the office for necessary correction. It even does not respond to emails despite a fact the the present Govt is propagating Digital India. The visit physically attracts corruption as the rented houses will tend to get it changed to own occupied (ofcourse with exchange of money only). Some will get it changed to residential from commercial.
Finally after much of struggle on the internet, I could succeed in amending the bill to get it corrected from 450 sq. yd to 160 sq.yd which should have been done by the MCF based on email complaint. For the benefit of the members, I would suggest members not to visit the office and do it online and even pay it online. Those who may need any clarification may kindly post their comment here. But the newspaper report has advised all the residents to visit office which is surprising me. Why someone visit to the office to find out property id.

Similar demand has been made in my case I own a house built on 350Sq.yd.plot but in the demand notice they have mentioned it as 160 Sq yd.plot while no plot less than 350 Sq.yd exists in this sector. When enquired from MCF they told that this notice is incorrect and to be put into dustbin. Similar is the case of water bill Either a joint protest be made thru a Grp or thru RWA. yd p

I have recd bill for my flat which shows 2750 sq ft area whereas in actual it is 1662 sq ft . Their web page does not open for payment though they have written only online payment. Since amount is so small and not worth visiting their office for area correction . Our society manager has collected cash and will Pay manually. Unfortunately Faridabad is one city totally mismanaged admistration in all deptt because people from top to bottom don’t work .

Sir, you can edit the area of your house online and regenerate the bill with correct amount. Click on the website www.mcfaridabad.org and then search your property by clicking on the link property tax. After filling few search details you will be able to find your property and then click again on the pay now. If you want to edit the details that can also be done wherein you have to upload some document in pdf evidencing the covered area of the house. May be last house tax bill can be uploaded.

It appears that the reason for such a lapse is lacķ of knowledge . The office of property tax wss not having infra structure to work on computer. The staff was working manual. The reasons for mistake appears to be are I LACK OF KNOWLEDGE 2 NO INFRASTRUCTURE .We must train thr staff in the area of ITwith top modt priority so that people should not be harrsed .
