Municipal Enforcement - Inputs Sought

Based on your feedback in many discussions, a key take away has been the lack or inability of effective enforcement by urban local bodies.

With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on how urban local bodies working with police and other bodies can improve the enforcement of various rules.

Also, if you have specific ideas to improve the municipal-police working relationship for enforcement, please share.

An estimation of work to be completed in a day should be given to the Workers of municipal corporation and if they doesn't work properly they should be punished by the seniors. An awareness regarding cleanliness should be made among the workers. An active Helpline no. which work properly should be given to the citizen of city so that public can openly give their feedback. Along with the worker, citizens should also understand their responsibilities to make the BHARAT SWACHH. At last this is for those who think that only the home should be clean and don't care about the city/country & throw their litter/trash on roads & streets should be fined by the municipal corporation and the bucket of badly smelling litter should be thrown inside their varanda. Then only they w'll be ashamed of doing such thing. Now i am sharing an experience with you when i was traveling in a train i.e from Pune to Mumbai 4 to 5 foreigners were also their they took the cup of tea and after drinking it they simply just kept that disposal into their pocket of jacket without thinking about their dress or anything while an Indian has thrown the disposal out of the window this was the very embarrassing moment as foreigners are caring more than our country people & This also shows the lack of awareness , education etc in the people of our country. municipal should work on awareness. more
I will bow to government when Government employees will start working. It is foolish to talk about government employees. They just sit and earn money. more
Install Garbage collection Bins at a distance of 100 feet in entire city/town. In absence of garbage bins, where do people throw garbage? If they see a garbage-bin, they'll use it. Unauthorised Hawkers,Vendors ,Eateries are main cause of throwing dirt ( & not citizens) & Municipal Employees, Local Police & Elected Corporator protect these unauthorised Hawkers as they get Hafta from them. more
If police and municipality were doing their duties properly then I don`t think there was a need for the present govt. to Start Swachh Bharat Mission. more
I know that lot of people will feel offended but just a question "Can't we afford it just one night out of 365 nights in a year?" more
