MY PREDICAMENT TODAY ON THE SITUATION & HOW I PROCEED .

I am really in a predicament whether to wait till the last minute for the ticket to be confirmed
or
Take the option to Cancel the ticket now and go for alternative .

If I go for the alternative I will have to shell out Rs. 200 each for 2 tickets , as CANCELLATION CHARGES FOR NO MISTAKE OF MINE AT ALL. even though,

* I don't have a confirmed full berth, as it is only R.C , which I didn't opt for ,

* WHY NOT ALLOW ME TO CANCEL THE TICKET AT LEAST 6 DAYS BEFORE THE JOURNEY PARTICULARLY WHEN RAILWAYS IS NOT SURE OF OFFERING A BERTH THOUGH HAVE COLLECTED THE IN FULL .

It is the predicament but even if you are made incharge of ticketing since there EQ and few others are decided 4 before only. Till all are finalised even they can not say. It was much bad in the past where in Politicians, Ministers and Government officials were also travelling on duty by train (Old days) - let us pursue the matters as railways are in a listening mood more
As I know, RAC tickets are treated as wait listed and full refund is made deducting a minimal amount as handling charges. more
Railways earn from RAC passengers by collecting full fare from 3 passengers putting all 3 passengers in inhuman conditions. more
Absolutely all the statements mentioned by different members are right and needs attention of the concerned passenger oriented officials . Railway minister Goel ji should interfere and find a solution to the genuine problem of the passenger. more
Dear Jaykumar, continuing...... 2. Damn it. Did I booked the ticket in the initial stage and waited till the preparation of chart, to let my ticket be cancelled? What authority the Railways got to drop my names from the final chart. I wanted to travel only. When the railways completely FAILED to provide accommodation, despite maintaining Waitlist till the last minute, they have to tender an apology and refund the full ticket value with a coupon to claim reservation under EQ/HQ/VIP/Emergency Quota. But neither the Railways nor the socalled PUBLIC SERVANTS die to tender even a milder apology. Shame on these Servants who became Masters. 3. WHEN finally the ticket is RAC in 3AC, these Railways Babus are providing only one set of Bed Roll. Remember that we have paid (both the RAC passengers per berth) have paid fully for the Bed Roll. But the Funny Attendant will not give two bed rolls. Therefore, two unknown people are forced to share one small pillo and a common Quilt. God, Railways are improving the understanding and mutual cooperation between two unknown people. I Request the Railways to see that one Hindu and one Muslim occupy the berth under RAC. This way, The Indian Railways can stake a claim to NOBLE PEACE PRIZE. They get it and I will canvass for them. 4. You have to cancel a ticket not later than 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. Thereafter, you cannot filed even TDR stating that you have missed the train or not travelled. For Example, I have to travel from Bhilai-Durg to catch a train at Raipur for travelling by 18517 i.e. Korba-Visakhapatnam. I start at Durg at 6.20pm and reach Raipur by 7.10pm and catch 18517 at 1950 hrs. The departure time if 2010. Suppose, I miss the connecting train Amarkantak at Durg. I cannot catch the train. Then what is left to me? Because the time left now is less than 4 hours. Is it not LOOTING PASSENGERS. 5. I really doubt that no Railway Officer worth his designation and not even PR of Railways, may be reading these postings. WE ONLY GET SOME SATISFACTION THAT WE HAVE VOICED OUR GRIEVANCES OR RONA-DHONA GAAYA. Nothing changes because Railways is mightier than the old East India Company. more
