MY TAX MONEY
I am diligently paying all taxes every year; Income Tax, P-Tax, Service tax etc.. Do I have a say when my tax money is misused by the govt.? Instead of spending my tax money on health and welfare of people, if it is being used for making huge statues or bullet train, then can I appeal to the judicial system to put a stop to it? more

A system needs to be introduced with provisions to make the rulers accountable for intentional misutilisation of public exchequer to meet their personal or political ends. The voters should also be empowered with the right to recall a representative voted to the Parliament and/or the Assemblies, which will compel these groups of people to behave and perform for overall interests of the nation and its people. more

I feel Right to Recall could be a solution as at presenr the elected party could feel free honeymoon period of 5 years. Major decisions affecting citizens be allowed under policy of referendum. System accountability need to be in place. If all suxh thing would have been available in the system then we would not have been hearing "jumlas". more

Very right sir. Implementing the promises must be made mandatory on all political parties and non implementation must disqualify the political party from contesting next election or some other suitable punishment but NOT JUST monitory fine. more

Sir, it is most unlikely that, we will ever be given the power to recall. Another option could be, it should be made mandatory by Election Commission for winning political party to adhere to its Election Manifesto and if they don't, disqualify that political party. more

Dear Jayant Biswas, I can understand your frustration as a co citizen, in my opinion, in a democratic country like ours, every citizen has a right to question when public feels that any action of the Government is against public welfare. Publicly, information can be gathered from through RTI Act. Legally, You Can file a Public Interest Litigation which can be filed by any publicly enlightened citizen. Personally, Over and above all this public has a very powerful weapon that is exercising franchise or your valuable VOTE. The system has to change in this regard. But how can a system change? Educating the people in the right way. As an Educationalist you can take that initiative and start working on this. ALL THE BEST. more

We don't pay Taxes. These are imposed on to us. A prisoner cannot have a say on expenditure of the money he might have earned for the jail authorities. more

Ideally when you had given your vote to elect a person, you have given a consent to the elected person to take decisions on behalf of citizens. Now the elected persons have been mandated to make provisions in the budget, expenditure etc. more
