We’'d like to inform you that if the product is being sold at MRP, no extra GST will be charged, but, if the product is being sold at a certain discounted price, GST will be charged over and above the discounted price.

Before implementation of GST,the MRP used to cover all the cost plus taxes.Then why after GST implementation MRP does not include GST.What happened to the tax component pre GST implementation? more

The clarification asked is correct. The discounted price a percent of MRP or a fixed figure. In both cases the selling price includes the GST. How can GST be applied again on this price? more

I think govt should remove this confusion. GST should always be extra on the agreed price. So it becomes transparent. Some things include GST some exclude GST. There should be uniform practice and GST should be extra on agreed price. MRP should be reduced accordingly. Whatever discount they give. At final price GST should be charged extra and shown in Invoice and there should be mechanism to check if Invoice is genuine or Fake. Like you can check online by putting GST No of supplier and issued Invoice to cross check more

There is nothing to be surprised at least in chandigarh. I an reinnovation my house since last six months. Each and every shopkeepers says so even the dealer of big brands like Havel's . The implementing machinery is missing from the field. Mostly the bills are avoided or issued for lesser amount. The trader very shamelessly says nothing will change till next elections. Any one insisting on the issue of full bill is not liked. more
