I agree with Mr. Saileswaran and Mr. Sumonto Roy. I have studied the pattern of booking i n few imp trains like Mumbai Rajdhani. It has about 11 coaches of 3Ac making total 704 seats. Out of this 390 for general 80 for tatkal and pbbly 80 for prem tatkal making 550 cnfmd reservations. Bal are 154seats. Out of this 6-12 are for lower berth quota and 6 are for ttes remaining are 136 now against this irctc/ system is allowed to book tickets under wtg list even upto 600. And it can always be seen that there is heavy cancellation during the last week even before tatkal or pre tatkal booking. This all indicates that heavy bookings are made by agents who try to resale these bkgs. To check this I proposi that every booking person should provide pass id no. at the time of bkg so that tkts are not resold by the agents. more

I agree with proposal and further I would like to add that for Sr.citizens only lower birth should be given in consideration of their age and what amount of travel they would have done in their life. This can be a reward to the Sr.Citizens by Railways as given in Income Tax benefits. Further I do not know if this forum is good for my proposal that those who are above 65 years should be given Medical insurance free of cost irrespective of their status, by the Government to honor them. In fact, in developed country USA Sr.Citizens are given an annual allowance of $12,000/- this figure I do not know if it correct. more

I do agree with the proposal of Mr Oza. To earn more Rly should at times attach coaches to the prominent trains to clear all the RACs and Wait Lists. moreover, even today you can get tickets of the same day through Agents in any train, including Shatabdi and Rajdhani, then where is the change coming to? The system should be such that one can get Railway tickets at least seven days in advance , except for the rush period and few selected trains. I hope the Rly Authorities look into this problem imdtly. more
