National Disaster Authority of India

Is there a national disaster authority in the country? What is their role and responsibilities?

They should communicate via such circles or some other private circle and educate people on safety and what to avoid, how to be disaster prepared.

Sorry but I find most people atleast in North India, Delhi NCR are ignorant and dont believe in preparing for calamity right from their home, fire, the way they drive. If this way safety gets higher priority it will be a good thing. more

In our country most of the burden in disaster management is taken up by organizations like RSS, Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Ramakrishna Math and Mission and several other social and religious organizations. But there is a need to have a centralized coordinating team fully prepared, to give guidelines and support to these organizations. more
