National Highways in Bad shape
A few hours back Cyrus Mistry, last Chairman of Tata Sons died in a road accident near Palghar in a Mercedes. He was coming to Mumbai from Ahmedabad.
NHAI Road conditions is very bad from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. It must be repaired on top priority basis. Every day many people are dying because of non maintenance of this road. Please do something to repair this highway which is in very bad shape.
I urge Road Minister Gadkari sir to take note. I also request every LocalCircles member to report whatever national highway they have experienced bad roads on in the last 3-4 months. more

1)No safety precaution is being taken while / after constructions of road. 2) The construction company never being held responsible for accident, though happened due to its negligence. 3) Road authority Central / State should make road safety laws more Strick and initiate action against the construction company without waiting for any body’s instruction / public demand 4) Parked vehicles (for any reason)(a) do not keep any signals /sign behind so that vehicle coming behind, should know in advance, that the vehicle is stopped and he has to change his lane. (b) There should be red blinking signal at the back side of parked vehicle, though the parked vehicle’s lighting system is damaged or not working. For this system technical held should be taken from IIT, Konkan Railway or any other technical experts. more

Highways was built like this and being built by corrupted people. We are inhuman as we are after money though it is not the life. Of course we need money to live on but it should be earned in sincere and honest way. First we are corrupt as our votes are bought. In order to get that money back, politicians and bureaucrats force people to give bribe to favour them. So it continues in all walks of life. Unless this trend is reversed and everyone is honest in every action and raise in mass against corruption, India will become well blossomed country. more

the question is why road conditions are bad, my observation is we the people dig out road, cut barriers across road for making short cuts, surveillance every where is impossible. SO analysis be done with this angle too, along with quality of work. "Responsibility & Authority" go hand in hand. thin why such things do not happen at the bridges?? more

I recently visited India after three years and drove from Delhi to Jaipur. The road condition is so bad with big potholes that any expert driver can get a hit in the rainy season. It took us more than usual time to cover such a short road trip. On top of that, the discipline of truck drivers on the highway is rude and they usually drive any lane they wish to with not keeping enough gap. even pedestrians are crossing at various points by jumping. NHAI has to have a closer look at such situations and ground realities. more
