Need a sub standard medicine recall system

Thanks for members who shared the latest list of medicines (attached) that failed quality test. Many of us are taking them.

Please note that the we in India dont even have a system to force a recall of these substandard drugs from the market.

While a large part of the problem is definitely with pharma companies, some of the failures are also due to a poorly regulated supply chain - India has no rules to regulate the conditions under which drugs are stored as they transit through the supply chain.

Can the members of LocalCircles please discuss and get the Government to take this up? more

Wait for the government action to plan a legislation more
Their license should be cancelled and no concession . Once they do , in future no pharma company will dare to make substandard product. more
Its true, that no regulating agency is capable to control the menace as long as political leaders & beurocrate maintain their nexus to extract money from innocent peoples. Its awakening call for regulating agencies and govt. to act fast to curb substandard medicines from market. more
truly said Drugs control dept needs to wake up to reality as to what is happening across the world and enforcement on any item is very weak needs to be strengthned more
Our two problems with any regulating agencies are: Corruption and Job security to all employees of regulating agencies. Because they are all Government employees. No one is bothered because because the employees know that whether they do their allocated jobs diligently or otherwise. PM tried to correct the situation but the IAS lobby is so strong that nothing can be done about any complaints about their staff. more
