Need advice regarding my credit card issue
I have taken a SBI credit card on 2006. In between i missed one payment and after that i made it. Later on they came and say you have still some amount is pending and i have paid the amount and settled the account again they are putting me in CIBIL as defaulter and saying that i need to pay some amount.
Here is few observations:
1.they haven't communicated to my email between 2007 to 20011(5 Years).
2.There is no email statements in this period. Looks like puposefully they are waited for acumulation of interest and they are demanding now with the incresed amount.
3.The payment i have paid till now is the actual amount.
4. So The amount SBI mentioning is not true payment it was just interest they have accumulated in 5 years .
Please advice in this matter how to proceed legally. more

Hello Hari, please go to site www.cibil.com get registered, get CIBIL TransUnion Score (including CIR) ( @ Rs. 550/-) and after getting write to them. File your grievance to the banker and if the reply is not satisfactory, or not received within 30 days , you can file the grievance in your complaint to the bankers, can sent it to the ombudsman. You have to sent 3 copies of your complaints with xerox copy of documents to the ombudsman. If the ombudsman is not satisfactory you can approach Appeal cell in the ombudsman. If the appeal is not satisfactory , you can approach PUBLIC GRIEVANCE more

Hi Ashok, Thanks for you response could you please help how to approach CIBIL. With out having CIBIL can we send the queries to CIBIL? If i need to approach banking ombudsman how to do it please help me in this regards ... more

Filing a case with the jurisdictional Banking Ombudsman and the concerned Consumer Forum is good and with CIBIL yopu just have to write your sayings with proof in black & white. It would cost you more or less nothing and action would be fast, I have experience. more

Thanks to Sri Virmani for getting my post right. However, it is observed from the posts of Ashok K & Thirumalai Rengarajan, that they advocating the filing of a case in a Court of Law. In this context, I would like to submit that without taking into account the strengths & weaknesses of Sri Hari Muppa's response to the queries raised by me, it will be very difficult to argue with the Credit Card issuing company. Moreover, filing a case in a court of law is not advisable as a decision from out of this litigation will be very much delayed taking into account the present position of the pending cases with all the High Courts/Supreme Court). Instead, it is better to think in terms of filing a case either with the jurisdictional Banking Ombudsman or the concerned Consumer Forum detailing the circumstance of the case. more
