Need of the hour - police sensitisation for POCSO
Indian Police Foundation the founder of this circle must note what Govt is saying in regards to POSCO as its to dos and then work with home ministry and state police to make it happen. This should be done on priority as it could make big difference.
All police officers should be re-trained on various aspects of sexual offences particularly those related to collection and preservation of evidence.
Instructions may be issued to all police officers that utmost priority is to be given to complete the investigation of cases of sexual offences against children strictly as per the timelines of Law.
State Governments must take strict action against those police officers who are found to be obstructing the investigation or colluding with the perpetrators of such cases.
A quick and timely professional investigation is the only method in which a potential offender can be deterred but this can be done only by the states as the police department is the state subject. Forming a special cell only for sexual offences or specially for sexual offences on children, would be a significant step in this regard. more

Each one of is corrupt mentally and we conveniently hide or excuse ourselves. For getting our job done first and out of turn we bribe staff or officers in government offices. Let's first correct ourselves mentally. Then we would find corruption nowhere. more

Most people may not agree with me when I say that not much can be expected from Indian Police Force. The reasons are serious. The police force is not developed to serve the people. They have been designed so that they control the people whenever they appear to cause inconvenience to those who are power. Even when people resort to demonstrations against genuine government failures, they have to receive police beating. Despite so many reports regarding police reform no government has taken any effective measures. more

All police are not bad or inefficient. They particularly the beat constables on the road and the inspector at the police station are always in the glare of the society They constantly remain under stress because of the pressure and threat from their seniors. I wish the author of the post should also have brought out a fact that number of allegations of rapes are found frivolous, with ulterior motives and remember the story of wolf and shepherd of false alarming and exactly that is happening with women cases whether it is rape or 498a or any other allegations by the women. If the women discharge their responsibilities truthfully a stage can come when we can demand even for shoot at sight orders without even conducting investigations. However, what to talk of women, our legislatures are also using women to settle their scores or to achieve mileage. On the one side women shouts we are not useable commodities and on the other side the women offer themselves to be used. A reform is also required in the mindset and women laws. more

But if the allegations are against politicians, then we cannot say it might be challenges. It could be possible wrong alarms for some ulterior motives including political destabilization. In such process you land up and land up with only the enactments to be used for frivolous purpose. Ultimately the country gets defamed. Why and how sudden surge of complaints of rapes specially with teenagers. more

Precisely, All Rapes are not naturally happened. Acute Vigilance is needed to find the hidden roots. HOW A -8- MONTHS BABY CAN BE RAPED ? absolutely this Baby was set to have been Raped by that culprit who indeed challenged .
How can a 1 and 1/2 years Baby can be Raped ? There is some thing else .

ALL THESE SUCH PROVE ABSOLUTELY INTENTIONAL AND WITH A CHALLENGE and , not because of precipitated opportunity of situation .

Police should be given free hand with out any interference from any quarters. The POSCO court to have the powers of HC/SC. more

The police should be sensitised for severe action for any lapse in investigation through internal circulars or videos. Awareness should be spread. Lack of awareness causes many lapses though the dictum is: Ignorance of law cannot be treated as an excuse. more
