Need safety standards for commercial public events

A lot of women who went to the AR Rahman concert this weekend had to face horror. Many, i mean a lot were groped and assaulted.

Police, Event Manager, AR rahman no one seems to be accountable.

It is high time that safety standards are created and enforced for commercial public events and ideally all public events.

i do have concern and care for the safety of all citizens of my country, but tell me isn't safety a part of our individual fundamental instinct, in our hands ? as people , we know that we have a very poor infrastructure in many of our social environment. our sense of sensibilities is limited and skewed, and we always look at things with blinders on. expecting the government or the organizers to be there to control the mob mentality can be a challenge when we don't have enough man power nor tools to counter them. Would you go for a swim in the beach during stormy weather? what happened was certainly wrong, but this is also like cursing the traffic when you are part of that traffic. so people please be more responsible and make others feel the same. more
There are certain anti social elements waiting for such situations to indulge in such actions against girls and ladies. It is the responsibility of the organizer to coordinate with local police forces to have proper control on the crowd. It is quite shameful they failed miserably. Yes of course. The topic is very much of a need and the Government should look into this matter very seriously. Women should be protected from indecent acts in public place. The Government must bring a code for these type of events like seperate sitting arrangement for Females and entrance and exit. A Female patrolling security is a must in such events. Indian Railways has achieved a lot of improvement in this respect. more
It is high time either Govt. should intervene or Court take suo-motu action for Draft Framework for Safety Standards particularly large scale public events more
The organizers must ensure that decorum is naintained in the function. There should be separate seating or dancing space for men n women. If not, women should nor jump in the dancing hall. more
