Need to streamline airport processes

Unless our big international airports wake up to the new norms for international arrivals from the 14+ 'at risk' nations from December 1, there will be out and out chaos at our airports as thousands line up for RT-PCR tests and wait for the result before exiting

Absolutely essential for our airports to massively ramp up RT-PCR testing facilities while working to deliver results for all passengers within a specified number of hours

Imagine the plight of thousands of passengers, including children in holding areas waiting for hours while potentially exposing themselves to Covid in a closed space. Many arrivals from Europe would have spent close to 9 hours already on an aircraft

Passengers connecting through a third country would have had an even longer commute.

The last thing we want is to potentially expose incoming passengers to the virus we are trying to protect them from.

And remember the 14 list could be 30 soon as the virus gets found in several countries each day.

This begs the question - Should we shut all international flights or drastically reduce them to 10% of the flights. Only proven emergency travel to happen. more

I endorse the views of Mr. Nair. Let this circle be constructive without wasting time and energy of the members. Members, if possible, provide ways & means to come with novel ideas to creative awareness among people to adhere covid protocols and to reduce the vaccine hesitancy level in people more
The samples could be collected in the plane itself a couple of hours before landing. more
Hope the system will get alert and contain the in coming Passengers and and systemic check without harassing the Children and elders will certainly let the nation move forward with less risk. more
We should be alert. In fact airport should start checking from now on wards. It's no point waking up late when we know what happened during the first lock down & the second wave. All mass gathering should be stopped & mask wearing made complulsory more
Sir. I am awake, living, and kicking,( no one particularly) at 79 years young. There is an effective and competent government and there are people who know what to do. Without doing a fact check people who know nothing about diseases start commenting on what to do, and what not to do is on circles like this one. The travel restrictions were eased much before the new variant was found (First) in S.Africa.On getting information from WHO they have taken necessary action about travelers from some countries. Some comments really irritate the reader. more
