New Business GST query

Hi, I have just started my recruitment firm in Gujarat. Being first year of business, my turnover will be less than 20 lacs.
Kindly help me with following queries
1) My clients HO might be in other states, but I will be providing manpower to them for Gujarat state. Do I need to take GST number?
2) I have taken a membership of job portal to find candidates. They have charged GST to me. Can I get credit for the same?

Looking forward to get solution to above queries

Regards. more

the limit applies only if it a intra state transaction. Even if you provide service of one rupee outside the state you will have to register. Also unless you register you cannot get the input credit, and will have to take it as expenditure more
It is not compulsory for you to register and get a GSTIN if your turnover will be less than Rs 20 lacs. But, practically, you will find that all your clients will ask you for your GSTIN. So, strong recommendation is to register and have a GSTIN. You cannot take input credit if you do not pay GST. Input credit can be utilized only to offset / reduce your own GST liability. more
You cannot avail Credit unless and untill you have taken Registration and your GST Registration No. is reflected in their Invoice ... whether or not you choose to pay the GST portion of their Invoice unless its a correct GST Invoice is up to you ... Unless your turnover exceeds 20L, you're NOT required to take GST Registration, but you will lose on Credit. But then, you can Invoice inclusive of all taxes and continue to be tax compliant. If you Invoice with GST / IGST / SGST shown seperately, you are in violation of the law - collecting GST without paying to Govt and can be fined as well as attract penal provisions. more
1. As u are processing Inter-state supply you compulsorily need to be register under GST. 2. Yes subject to condition you are a Register Dealer. more
Ans - 1) Your clients HO might be in other states, but if your client is registered in Gujarat state and you are billing to them on Gujarat address only. Then you need not to take registration till you cross your T.O. of Rs.20 Lacs. But if your client is not registered in Gujarat and you are issuing bill to his H.O. which is in other state. Then you have to take compulsory registration even with out crossing the limit of Rs.20 Lacs and you have to charge IGST on the invoice. 2) Only after the Registration in GSTIN You can get the credit of all the ITC which is available on your furtherance of businesses.
