New Cheating Practice started by traders etc
All of us are aware that as per Govt. Law the MRP (Max. Retail Price) is printed by the manufactures (few exceptions are always there) But off late I have been observing that the printed portion showing MRP is either torned off or defaced. We are aware of that their is heavy dealers discount already available to traders on the MRP still this practice has been started.
Recently, I had purchased 75 Boxes of tiles from Baraula in Noida. Each Box was religiously torned from the area where MRP is printed. One can imagine it could happen in one or two boxes during transportation but it cannot happen in all the Boxes. Close inspection revealed that it has been done manually. On asking the reasons they have all types of nonsensical answers.
Just to check the practice, I went to four more shops and each one had the same thing on the Boxes having MRP printed portion torned off.
The other day I bought a telephone Indian make from Indira Market. It had the same thing. I purchased a heater from Sector 18 it had the same thing.
It seems that it has become a Rule rather than practice in Noida.
Can any body guide me the appropriate authority with the correct email/contact no. etc. to lodge a complaint about it. May be it would fall under Weight and Measure Dept. Even then I need the help for providing proper contact details more

Dear Mr. Pradeep, While you are right in your contention still I would feel the complaint should be taken. We can add onto seeking status of the complaint under RTI Act. I know it is herculean task but still we have to take up issues to change the system. more

Weights & Measurement Dept is most corrupt dept, the dealer will grease his palm. Your complaint will only help department guy to earn extra buck for that day. They will not allow you accompany with them. more
