New Covid rules for Mumbai

* FIR against Mumbaiites who violate home quarantine rules if they are high risk contacts of covid-19 positive patients. They will also be compulsorily institution-quarantined

* High-risk contacts will be hand-stamped for identification, and will be called 5-6 times a day to check if they are home.

* Entire building will be sealed as a containment zone if more than five positive cases are found.

* ₹200 fine for not wearing face masks, which is mandatory while travelling in public transport, at public places, in private offices, wedding ceremonies, and places of worship.

* BMC to conduct surprise inspections at restaurants, bars, malls, shopping centres.

* At least five wedding venues where ceremonies are scheduled will be inspected per day. If Covid-19 rules are being violated during the ceremony, action will be taken against the management and wedding organisers.

* Number of BMC clean-up marshals deployed to fine citizens not wearing masks and spitting on streets to be doubled from 2,400 to 4,800.

* Their daily target doubled from average of 12,500 people fined per day at present, to 25,000 people per day for violating rules.

* 300 BMC marshals will travel in local trains to ensure commuters wear face masks. Non-compliance will attract a ₹200 fine. Marshals authorised to levy fine.

* At religious places, women marshals will be deployed to take action against those not wearing face masks

* Travelers from Brazil will also undergo mandatory institutional quarantine. At present, travellers from the UK, Europe, the Gulf countries, and South Africa are transferred to institutional quarantine facilities. more  

Take severe punishments on offenders. No nercy more  
How can there be a target of fining 25000 persons per day? more
