Every other day we are coming across new diagnostic centers opening on every nook and corner of NCR. It makes one apprehensive about the genuineness and accuracy of the tests and reports. As of now the most popular in this field is Dr. Path Lab which is based at CP, New Delhi with branches all over. Can any one suggest any other Path Lab of the same reputation and reliability. ? more
No doubt Dr.Lal Path Labs is quite big and mostly reliable too but it is not that they are the only reliable ones in the field. You can go to any nearby lab owned and run by a MD (Pathology) doctor. Now is the time that people know and respect qualification. No doubt technicians work everywhere , but it is not possible to equate the doctors with subordinates ( Technicians ). Neither the later can ever aquire the knowledge equal to a Pathologist whatever years of experience may be there. There are good technicians also but they are trained in only one kind of specialty e.g. histopatholoy , cytopathology or immunology etc. There is a difference between a technician and a technologist too ! Technologist knows the depths of his/her subject ,but again that can be in a limited field(s). A pathologist is supposed to know everything over and above i.e. not only the intricacies of the techniques but its clinical applications too! There are blacksheeps in Pathologists also who for monitory benefits just give their signatures to technician run labs and it seems as if the protocol is complete and lab is having a qualified Pathologist .Try to avoid such labs. So do some research in your nearby area and fix a lab for best results. Corporate labs like Dr.Lal Path Labs do some unique test which cannot be equated and run even by a Pathologist with moderate workload. However, they can outsource the same to an appropriate player in the market which can be cheaper too. more
