What about their antecedents? Even a Murderer can become a Politician/Minister. Is it a Good Governance? First Clean the House of all these Corrupt and Criminals. During Independence conditions were different, but now after 75 years things are different. more
All the remuneration should be linked to some output such as the number of parliament sessions they should attend, no of meaningful questions they should ask,no. of debates they participate and peoples issues they take up. They should also be required to spell out the welfare measures they take up for the constituency and amount spent on them. more
Very sadistic. Politicians are in a profession and if you dont compensate them well or restrict their ability to function, what can you expect? Let us learn to empower politicians and compensate them properly but also learn to demand action and responsibility. The whole idea of politicians being samaritans and under-compensated social workers who have to struggle for existence is thoroughly misconceived. Politicians who dont have a family, live a life of constant abandon, not taking care of themselves etc can never do us any good as their mind will also work in compromised ways. Politics is a high-risk job which they have chosen to take up. How many of us would want to or get into politics in India today? Whether politicians have crores or not in personal wealth is an issue only if that has come about by abuse of their position and through graft. more
At the outset, all MPs crorepathis. Secondly why phone allowance of 1.5 lacs per year when mobile phone charges are much cheaper. Every MP should be provided BSNL mobile connection with mobile net pack and discontinue landline. Phone allowance must be cut. Again free units must be cut as they are paid handsome salary. Since pension is stopped since 2004 pan India, the same should be stopped forthwith to all MPs. We must raise our voice. more
Payment made from tax paying public, hence must be limited. As a consumer of different services travel, electric consumption, phone bill etc seems to be too much, these are practical base & that to within LIMIT. SELF CONTRIBUTED PENSION ONLY. PENTION AS PER GOVT EMPLOYEE SCHEME. NO PENSION IF LESS THSN 10 YEARS REGULARLY ELECTED & SERVE. more
