New trains for Holi

Railways has started new trains for Holi instead which means even more people would travel than normal. But I agree Railways must not only ensure availability of soap In trains and cleaning but the same thing on platforms too.

Why is there still no fine for spitting on platforms. Issue 20 challans in a day per city and see the change. Even coolies are spitting on tracks and in dustbins. more

Spitting is prohibited in Metro Rail areas but not in Indian Rail areas. It is our fundamental right to spit everywhere inside Railway areas and sidings and there is hardly a bin in so many small stations to discard wastes. It is taken for granted that people will spit or throw wastes anywhere they like. Earlier people used to pee in open but it is now not so much visible due to construction of urinals in many cities, But people do that freely in rural areas as there is no alternative. So first we have to create such public utilities in abundance in all areas and also to create awareness against such ill habits. Habits die hard but we have to keep the focus on. This is Incredible India! more
Indiscipline can not be stopped over night. Things have improved a lot. Awareness is giving positive impact and improve further. more
Normal activities have to go on if thre is no serious threat. Is it not the duty of people to keep a healthy and clean surroundings? Is a fine required to impose it? more
Alok has the right idea, show the perpetrator except that we, the crowd, turn a blind eye. We should not be aggressive but when we see this most repugnant act in action we should simply let know the perpetrator that he/she is reneging our national heritage. It is very sad that our nation has given so much to the world and yet our own people show such disregard. more
I agree with Alok except that when we see this most repugnant act we should let the perpetrator know that by spitting we are reneging on our heritage and that there are places where we could deposit that surplus in our mouth. more
