While working for a spotfix in the surajkund park, pahal volunteers saw so many broken idols and ‘puja samagri’ which were abandoned of worshipping. Here, there is a religious belief that if you cant immerse the ‘khandit idols’ and remnants of ‘puja samagri’ in the running water then leave it under some ‘peepal’ tree. We saw ‘puja samagri’ and idols lying under peepal tree mixed with the garbage with the stary dogs and pigs breaking their sanctity and polluting the environment and destroying the religious feelings. We had heard about a temple run by RSS collects broken idols and religious material and dispose them off in the holi Ganges at brajghat which is 45 Kms from Meerut. We talked to brahmchari ji, the main priest of Tripur sundari (raj-rajeshwari) mandir of samrat palace, meerut. He at once consented to the idea which we offered.
Pahal-ek prayas has planned to install two bins (‘patra’/ half drums) in atleast 10 main temples of Meerut with a printed flex banner to educate locals in which it ll be requested to put the the ‘khandit idols’ of their homes in one ‘patra’ and remnants of ‘puja samagri’ and religious papers/ material in the other one. The material which can be burnt will be given a religious sanskar on every first Sunday of every month at 0830 AM in the hawan-kund at all the places simultaneously, which will be a community gathring attended by all the locals along with their children. If some religious persons want to organise a langar (free kitchen) for all, it will be a welcome prasad/ breakfast. The ‘khandit idols’ will be burried in the soil near holi ganga and will not be immersed (‘jal-prawah’) to pollute the ‘Ganga mata’. We are exploring the possibilities with shantikunj and sculptors who make statues from plaster of paris about recycling them.
In this link we have installed 3 bins in the tripur sundari mandir today. Can we request others to spread the message and start this innovative idea in their areas too so that sanctity of bharat mata and ganga mata can be maintained by abolishing the age old customs to pollute the environment.

सूरजकुंड पार्क में स्पॉट फिक्स करते हुए पहल के स्वयंसेवकों ने देखा कि खंडित मूर्तियां, पूजा सामग्री, धार्मिक साहित्य पीपल के नीचे कूड़े में पड़ा हुआ था जिसे सुअर और आवारा जानवर रौंद रहे थे। यह अत्यंत तकलीफदायक था। यहाँ पर एक प्रथा है कि यदि आप खंडित मूर्तियां, पूजा सामग्री, धार्मिक साहित्य जलप्रवाह ना कर पाओ तो पीपल के वृक्ष के नीचे रख आओ। अर्थात धार्मिक गन्दगी पवित्र पीपल या पर्यावरण संभालेगा और खंडित मूर्तियां गंगा मैया आत्मस्रात करके स्वयं मैली होकर सबकी गंदगी ढोती रहेगी। हमने सुना था कि आरएसएस खंडित मूर्तियां, पूजा सामग्री, धार्मिक साहित्य इकठ्ठा करके यहाँ से 45 km दूर ब्रजघाट में गंगा जी में निस्तारण करता है. इस सम्बन्ध में हमने त्रिपुर सुंदरी (राज-राजेश्वरी) मंदिर, सम्राट पैलेस के मुख्य पुजारी ब्रह्मचारी जी से चर्चा की और वह तुरंत ही सहर्ष हमारे सुझाव पर तैयार हो गए।
पहल-एक प्रयास ने यह योजना बनायी है कि हम मेरठ में कम से कम 10 मंदिरों में यह पहल शुरू करेंगे और एक फ्लेक्स बैनर लगाकर लोगों को शिक्षित करेंगे कि खंडित मूर्तियाँ एक पात्र में और जर्जर धार्मिक साहित्य व पूजा सामग्री अलग पात्र में डालें। जर्जर धार्मिक साहित्य व पूजा सामग्री का निस्तारण एक धार्मिक संस्कार द्वारा प्रत्येक माह के प्रथम रविवार को नियत समय प्रातः 0830 AM पर सभी स्थानों पर एक साथ हवन कुण्ड में किया जाएगा, जिसमें सभी आस पास के लोगों को परिवार सहित सम्मिलित होने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा। धर्मभीरु सज्जनों को उस दिन हवनोपरांत लंगर की सेवा के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा। खंडित मूर्तियां वाहन द्वारा गंगा तट पर निस्तारण के लिए ले जाई जाएंगी तथा इन्हें जल-प्रवाह करके गंगा माँ को प्रदूषित नहीं किया जाएगा। उन्हें या तो गंगा जी द्वारा सिंचित बालू में दबा दिया जायेगा अन्यथा हम गायत्री परिवार, शांतिकुंज व मूर्तिकारों से बातकर उन्हें प्लास्टर ऑफ़ पेरिस से रीसायकल कराने के उपाय तलाश रहे हैं।
प्रथम कड़ी में हमने योजनाबद्ध तरीके से आज समाजसुधारक, शिक्षाविद गंगा माता के सुपुत्र महामना मदन मालवीय जी की जयन्ती पर 3 पात्र त्रिपुर सुंदरी (राज राजेश्वरी) मंदिर, सम्राट पैलेस, मेरठ में लगाए हैं। पहल-एक प्रयास टीम अपेक्षा रखती है कि यह सन्देश सबमें फैलाया जाए ताकि सभी धर्मभीरु सज्जन अपने अपने क्षेत्रों में इसकी पहल करें; तभी हम पुरानी कुरीतियों के त्याग से पर्यावरण शुद्ध व गंगा माता और भारत माता की पवित्रता को सुरक्षित रख सकेंगे। more
