No Blankets soon in some AC Trains?
Faced with criticism that it gives dirty blankets to passengers, the railways is working on a pilot project to discontinue providing them in AC coaches in some trains.

Inundated with loads of complaints about poor quality food in trains, Railway Board chairman A K Mittal's patience seemed to tip over as he advised passengers to carry home-cooked food instead of depending on the pantry in trains. “Carry home-cooked food as quality-wise there is no alternative of such food,“ Mittal advised passengers when his attention was drawn towards increasing complaints regarding the quality of food being catered on trains and recent recovery of a lizard in meal served on board Poorva Express to a passenger on Tuesday.
So we are going back to the practice followed more than 50 years back, when passengers were carrying their own Bed Roll, Food and Drinking Water Container during train journey. During summer months passengers used to carry Surahi, an earthen pot with a spout, to keep water cold. more

Dear Mr.Mohit Pande, This time the Railway Ministry is considering to stop supply of bedding and food.Recently ,we heard that the discontinuing travel concession for Senior Citizen is also under discussion. in the name of Stopping Corruption and to increase the Profitability of operation.Still there is no talk about withdrawal of train travel concession for Political leaders like MPs /MLAs. We read in newspaper frequently the Train Accidents in various locations in India.Hope Ministry is not looking for option of closing the Indian Railway Train Services. Regards' R.Radhakrishnan more

Discontinuing a service is not a solution but improving it is a definite one ....hope govt understands that. more

Many many thanks to God that he had decided to make him chairman of Railway Board and not of any health services. If it so happened , then he had ordered for beheading all who had complains for headache. more

Yes blanket are not disinfacted from time to time. I begin to believe that the advisor to hon. Suresh Prabhu is highly professional. Today I am traveling in AC II in Maharashtra express. Exactly, if some service is in poor or bad condition, then that should be improved... If some one is complaining and in response your discontinuing a service is not a solution. more

Dear Railway Board, I also agreed with you. Food supply in the Train should be stop. If You like to Continue then food menu and price to be circulate to the Passenger. Because price is charging more compare to food quality. Flight food is very good. There is no complain. So can we get the food in same quality.
