No building inspections by MCDs?
Can someone confirm if Municipal Corporations of Delhi have actually done away with inspections for building plan approvals to obtain Construction Permits. more

Very true, government is making fool all the tax payers by using their money to buy votes with freebies, so this must surely stop. While MCD is most corruption ridden place, its spoilt by builders for small gains of building extra area or earlier it use to be building extra floor too, more then sanctioned. Owners building for their own may not flout norms, but most builders always do and that is the reason for large scale illegal construction, beyond approved plans even in posh colonies. Its high time builders and MCD nexus is brought to books and one possible solution is to make completion certificate mandatory for registration and Registrar may not make any registry without completion certificate or something in lieu thereof. There need to be accountability of Builders and MCD officials and any case of illegal construction detected must be acted upon against both parties too JAGO SAB JAGO more

For inspections you need qualified people. But if the emphasis is on tribute collections, every rule in the rule book goes for a toss. Incidentally all this is codified in a manual issued with the approval of Ministry of Urban Development but rule of jungle prevails in MCD. more

Maps need approval from MCD approved architects. Checkings are done, while constructions are going on No approval required Did someone mention here ? Are we living in city with corporation or unauthorised colonies? It's a different matter,that people don't give sanctity to MCD approved maps and completion certificates Law abiding citizens are still following the rules Bribe givers are following the rules too We have to decide about the category,we belong to,the first or the second Culture of giving bribe has to stop Culture of freebies has to Stop also So that a hard working person as owner of flats doesn't look like a fool Just saw Kejriwal on TV, promising homes to every jhuggi dweller in Delhi I have worked in unauthorised colonies as a doctor There are two thousand Plus unauthorised colonies in Delhi Each colony has migrants@ millions Is it possible to provide homes, without people working hard to get one? Government is to help people live peacefully Government isn't to spoil people by giving them promises and dreams of owning homes by unfair means like squatting, additional structures etc Delhi is on zone 5 risk of earthquakes, besides the risk of fires due to congestion and narrow lanes in colonies, making it difficult for fire extinguishers to pass through Just think, look around and see logic of No Approval given for housing and it's not True more

In Delhi everyone does pretty much whenever they want to do. Who cares about MCD, Police etc. If you are thinking about MCD permissions, you are not a true Delhite. more
