No confidence in food regulators

The LocalCircles survey on food safety was nicely carried here in Kolkata by Telegraph and it makes it clear. FSSAI and state food departments are failing the people.

Kudos to LC Manager and media for bringing this out. Of course the TOI ET didnt carry this because it will make things more stringent for their customers which are FMCG brands but who cares.

Hope you all download and share with all your contacts. I shared in 7 whatsapp groups and folks in each single one agreed that these food bodies are just corrupt taking bribe through agents. more

The organisation needs a ramp up since unless something is reported either in media here or overseas only then they act otherwise they are sleeping. It would be good if govt looks at it and revamps the same with more strong people who are self starters and puts into place a strong organisation more
it was in news in guwahati some college lab took fish sample and found formanil use ramnant, but instead taking action govet asked for name of the technicians and student, most probably to threaten them . food mafia has link to support them, artificial ripening of bananas and mangoes common practice , food deprtment remaine day sleeping . any news coming in media they are happy , because they will take action next day traders are free , money plays miracle, more
Had this country and related departments been corruption free, many branded foods public eatries street food serving joints, might have served healthy foods. Let the government employees be covered with money even then, the corruption exist. more
Well said Shikha. Big bribe takers. The food controllers are the channels for collection in the states. Bast#%$£ more
Non accountable, lax and corrupt officials do not like or accept "food for thought". Nothing will improve unless salaries, perks and promotions are linked to performance otherwise face quick dismissal. more
