No consideration for Consumer

I read some announcement from Health Ministry and FSSAI that they are empowering citizens and now we can take a sample of adulterated food to a testing lab.

I want to ask them Sirs in this time of busy lifestyles you really need to be more consumer centric.

Every restaurant should have in bold the no. Of local food inspector displayed. A consumer who has issue with food should take a picture and send to the inspector which also goes to the controller, ideally also into the citizens of that city. Immediately inspector should then act, if required take food sample from the consumer.

The govt needs be proactive and the citizen will respond. You are thinking citizens will be proactive and your machinery will be passive. That wont happen. more

Our laws should have the provision of death penalty for the food adulterators, which will certainly be helpful in arresting the menace to a large extent. more
Yes. The government will collect tax and when it comes to social security, it is the consumer, who has to handle the matter themselves. more
one should be able to send the photograph and get a response to action action. In today's complaint/suggestion systems, what is missing is the response of the action taken. more
Fully agree with Mr. N.Sharma, Ms.Shila Ramanujam and Mr. G.C.Mathur. Complaint authority should be displayed by street food vendors (whether static or mobile). A few weeks ago, there was a video in circulation showing a railway station tea vendor using poster colour as a tea whitener. more
SHARMAJI YOU HAVE A POINT. WHAT YOU SUGGEST COMES MUCH LATER. FIRST STEP IS ACTING ON A COMPLAINT. GIVEN THAT A CONSUMER GIVES A SAMPLE, HOW MUCH TIME TAKES FOR FASSI TO GIVE TEST RESULTS, FILE FIR, CONDUCT THE CASE AND GET THE CULPRIT PUNISHED. EVEN IF FASSI ACTS COURTS WILL TAKE SO LONG THAT IT WILL LACK IMPACT AND IN THE MEAN TIME ACCUSED ON BAIL AND GOES ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. FINALLY WHEN JUDGEMENT COMES IT MAY EVEN BE FINE OF NEGLIGIBLE AMOUNT. NEGLIGIBLE COMPARED TO THE UNDUE BENEFIT CULPRIT DERIVES. WE MUST TAKE A LAW AND THE JUDICIAL PROCESS EFFECTIVE AND THAT IS AT THE ROOT OF SEVERAL EVILS IN THE SOCIETY. more
Agreed with your observations Niranjan more
