No MDR, why convenience fee

If the Govt is saying no to MDR charges for merchants and hopefully consumer, why cant it stop convenience fee for digital transactions. I want everyone to write where all you pay convenience charges, like irctc, movie tickets, match tickets, travel booking.

digital lowers cost world over, in India it increases cost because of convenience fee, its ridiculous. Will consumer ministry take action? more

These charges are like adds in e mail services. If you block one, they change the name and come again with add mails. We understand that more quantity of business and internet reduces the cost. It is reverse hear, we have increasing quantity and internet usage yet rates/ charges go up. Banks are specialized in various charges. They asked customers to go online to save time. Now the customers are charged in so many ways. It is not customer, the sellers are ruling the business. Customer is helpless. more
IRCTC is charging Convenience Fee, when booked on-line (internet). It is a blatant dichotomy that where no railway official had lent his/her time, no office facility was used, no paper-ink or any other facilities are used - the IRCTC is imposing service charges! more
I agree with Nikita ,Mehta and others. When service charges, other fees are exempted in the garb of convenience fee or establishment charges or other charges are levied. These need to be challenged legally for which we have to do our home work very well before even making statement. So let's first find their basis and then see whether it is tenable. Rgds more
Does IRCTC inflict any charges as conveyance? I have never come across of such charges while booking tickets through IRCTS Portal. However, conveyance charges on flight & movie tickets purchased online and for other services are unjustified and has to be stopped. more
very much agree with Nikita. Actually service provider is enjoying the convenience of saving their booking employee time. We fill up the form. We select the preference. irctc and others should give discount to us for their continence. more
