No MRP complaince on imported products
Legal Metrology officers are strongly advised to visit stores in their cities that sell imported goods.
Very rarely importers comply to putting mrps on products.
Attached purchase from khan market in Delhi. Most products sold without mrp. Also look at the bill (which they dont give by default)

Hauz Khas Market has a Spencer Health & Glow Store which started more as a Cosmetic & Ladies Shop but is now a full fledged Departmental Store. It too has many Import items from Apple-Cider Vinegar to Whey Protein... though some have the importers sticker & MRP...many others especially in Chocolates...don't carry the necessary price information. Another Shop in INA Market has been for decades a very big importer and seller of chocolates & groceries including cereals. more

If voices become too strident, Government of India will put a stamp of Nexalism or Communalism on you and throw you behind bars. All voices of dissent are dying in a whimper as the Center has even the HC in its pocket. more

More voices needed to come up from our participants so that it rattles the Government of India and its political leadership. Consumer organisations are the most silent and not interested in real issues of consumers, is very regrettable. more

If we want to rationlize imports, we need to take few measures. 1) There should tag on every item in English or Hindi showing, Direct contact details of original manufacturer of goods, date of manufacture, safety instructions for use & recycling especially for Plastic, electronics, mobiles, Indian Importers name, GST/ VAT TIN number & MRP in Rupees.Or else such Indian importers should be taxed heavily. 2) For items imported for human consumptions, toys, use for kids, patients, medical equipment, expiry dates, FDA approval, recycling instructions needs to be added to above details. 3) Many automobiles, engineering & industrial products use parts, subassemblies imported from several nations. The list of imported parts, names of original manufacturer, with address, over-all percent of imported items cost to indian parts cost ratio must be displayed. This necessary as many automobile, tractor, AC, fridge, electrical, mobiles, decorative items are made, assembled & sold without gauarantee of spares, recycling instructions. more
