No MRP, Weight, date of manufacture or expiry on packaged products
My driver bought some packaged cookies and cakes (pics attached) from Golden Fiesta (sub of Sindhi Dry Fruits) in Central Mkt, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi on 28 July 2021. To my horror, I found no date of manufacture or expiry date,no MRP and no weight mentioned on any of the packages. In addition the driver was not given any bill. The products mention they are fssai certified. I seek clarity on the relevance of @fssaiindia certified products.
Who controls the malpractices? Not only are the fssai norms compromised in addition to customer's health, especially in these times of the pandemic, but also though the price charged to the customer is inclusive of GST the shopkeeper has no records and I'm sure is not paying GST. It's a known fact that "Sindhi ke yahan se toh chadawa chadta hai logon ko, jata hai"

The lapse by respective departments should be examined and corrective action should be taken.

But the respective departments are turning a blind eye. Who will guard the guardians? Whom to approach ?

Many thanks to all for responding. I agree that we should not buy stuff like this from such shops. And I have expressly forbidden my driver to buy anything from this shop. But really I want to know which authority to complain to. I visited the local police station, which is just about 200 yards away from the shop and met the Inspector. He gave me a patient hearing but that's it. It wasn't that he was ignorant of the malpractices but I doubt if he will take any action.

How about an aware customer who will not buy such products. Moreover shame the shop for this. Ms Neeru has set an example. Others need to carry it further.

Pl ask your driver not to buy any thing without Bill. Always buy branded products to ensure safety and taking action against the seller if any sub standard or spurious product is sold.
