No official time table in suburban stations in Chennai Division.
In Chennai division suburban stations, (Tiruvallur section), the concept of providing official time table board is seems to be withdrawn. Only advertisers provided timetable boards are kept in the flex boards. These flex board time tables are easily damaged by antisocial elements/ beggars. Beggars are using the flex boards for sleeping in the platforms. Some times in the wind also, these boards are getting damaged easily. Secondly, these time table boards are having error in the timings. Some of the timings are missing. Some of the timings are mentioned wrongly.
Railway administration is not going to hold any responsibility for the errors in the advertisers kept time table board. In the middle of the time table year, many changes were made in the suburban timings. These changes are not reflecting in the advertisers provided time table flex boards.
Time table board is a basic requirement at any railway station. But now Chennai division is not providing official time table board in the suburban stations particularly in the Tiruvallur section stations. At least in the coming October 2015 (New time table effect period) official time table board is to be provided in all suburban station without depending upon the advertisers.
Tiruvallur is a suburban terminus handling 160 local trains and 20 express trains in a day. In this station, there is no official time table board is available.
Please take some steps to provide offcial time table board at all the stations. more

We can not depend upon advertisers provided time table board. This time table are not authentic. The timings given in such time table boards are not guaranteed by the railway administration. Only official time table boards are authentic and reliable. Please provide authentic and reliable time table boards in the stations. In advertisers provided time table board, no one in railway administration has verified the details and certifying that it is correct. In that condition how passengers can rely on this time table boards? more

Now for providing time table board, Southern railway administration is depending upon advertisers. One day for operating train also Southern Railway will depend upon advertisers. They will operate the train with advertisers provided drivers. Days are no longer. At least some basic requirements should be in the control of railway administration. Official time table board also comes under such category. more
