No scrap center failed policy of Govt

Vinita is super right. Scrap centers are defunct cars cannot be used.

Govt cannot manage pollution so people who bought cars paid registration for 15 years must surrender them in 10 years and when they are ready to do so there are no takers so they lose registration cost for 5 years and then get their money tied up in an usable asset because there are no scrap centers.

LC must take this up. Members who have old cars or cars about to be turning 10 must show active interest and activate things more

Mine - petrol version, turning 15, running fine absolutely, but must scrap because the rich purchased so many cars dieselising transportation beyond the sustainable levels, causing atmospheric pollution! Is that fair? Poor, as a result, who must breathe clean air too, bearing the consequences, contracting asthma, i.e. medical poverty. Please factor everyone's concerns. Rich automobile manufacturers cashed into their revolutionary product sales. Whither, corporate social responsibility! more
What about Senior Citizens. Whose car hardly runs for say 400 KM per month. But they need it for their Personnel Comfort as other mode of Transport does not suit them. They Maintain the Car properly. more
I Agree with Nirmala and other members that the government has taken wrong knee jerk actions on adivise of clueless advisors who are like headless chicken more
Ultimately, a calibrated Graded Response Action Plan needed, balancing travelling need with such increasing personal vehicular usafe causing increased environmental load. How about used edible oils recycling, as after transesterification their blends produce bio-diesel, a much cleaner diesel. After all the crux here banning vehicles above a certain age being them causing pollution. Fuel change alongwith engine modification could allow the cars running longer, making their ownership more economical. more
This rule is not national. I drive a car which is more than 20 years old and motorbike which is more than 21 years old. Got their registration renewed last year and driving without a hassle. Let us not make LC a forum to blame government for everything. Maybe better understanding and inputs for policy making should be our strategy more
