No waitlisted / Everyone should get confirm ticket

I propose to introduce a new category of ticket, this will be in addition to Tatkal category. Anyone who purchase ticket in this category should get confirm ticket. On an average we Indian plan for the trip 10-15 days in advance. Hence booking of this new category should start on -5 days (i.e. 5 days before journey) and can be close on -2 days. Most important, everyone who purchase the ticket 2 days in advance should get the confirm tickets. This will help the passenger to make proper plan and s/he will be relax. I understand this will add some extra pressure on Railways people, but this can be easily managed. more

The on line reservation system has lately become very difficult due to CAPCHA introduced for three times that also the CAPCHA is not simple but difficult to recognise , taking lot of time LINK THE TICKET TO PRODUCE - VARIFY THE CREDIT - DEBIT CARD AT THE TIME OF TRAVEL OR A PHOTO COPY ........ WHY BRING SENSELESS IDEAS !! WHEN TIME IS CRITICAL FOR USER TO BE SUCESSFUL ........ CRIMINAL TRICKS TO HOODWICK HIS -HER FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO HAVE EASY WORKING NOW ............ more

I agree with Jayakrishnan here. The railways should first improve the existing trains and ensure that punctuality is strictly maintained. Bullet trains are welcome, but unless the existing trains are improved for the common public, prestigious trains alone will not help improve the railways. more
For this we need more trains in almost all routes. More trains mean double tracks and e signalling throughout India. If this can be done we can get a confirmed ticket a couple days ahead. Where commuters are more we need four tracks, two for slow and two for fast trains. more
Ii think railway should reduce reservation system from 60 days to 15 days so cancellation of tickets will reduce drastically and the real travellers can avail ticket in time Some quota be kept for daily reservation system 12 hrs prior to diparture so people on last moment can avail this facility Tatkal ticket be abolished for non a/c two tier and three tier coach but only a/c and first class reservation be alloted tatkal reservation only 48 hrs prior to diparture and that too online so middle man agents etc can not take advantege more
