NON EXISTENCE OF GOVERNING SYSTEM
The entire system has gone hay while. Both Cable operator like Hathway as well Tata Sky have gone into silent mode without bothering for their consumers.
They know that there is not much of governance in the system . Designated agencies like IRDA, TRAI and others have never played their role in the interest of the consumers. They have been remaining as silent spectators getting fat salaries without doing their job.

These are all private operators and in what way the government is responsible for high handedness of these private companies towards their customers? Don't you feel that we, the Indians, have developed a tendency of making our government responsible & answerable for each and every odds. At any cost our life should enjoy each and every moment effortlessly ! more

This is a very pertinent issue. The cable operators have no proper way of functioning. They need to be made accountable. more

We in Tamizhnadu are in the sad state of having Nil Governance. We consumers are being harassed at every step even by Chennai Corporation, BSNL Telephones, Electricity Board, Chennai Water Supply and Sewerage Board, etc.etc. We Senior Citizen Retirees find our retirement is anything but peaceful because of umpteen instances of harassment at these departments' hands. The latest I have experienced is at the hands of ICICI Bank which has returned my cheque issued by me on 10/01/2019 to the RTO Chennai Corporation for about Rs.5000/- and which cheque though returned on 19th Jan 2019 was very helpfully returned by the payee to me on 29th March 2019 demanding I should replace it with a Bank Demand Draft before 30th March 2019 though the house tax pertained to the year April 2019 to March 2020 along with a penalty of Rs.500. Though the reason cited by ICICI Bank was "Alteration requires Drawer'sauthentication"fhere was no material alteration on the cheque whichwas accepted by the CorporationBillCollector and I had rewritten the date(with the purported alteration) below my signature and also on the reverse of the cheque stating the amount is towardshouse tax dues of L.Kalavathi retd staff Bank of India. Upon enquiry I found that the cheque had not even beenpresented to the drawee bank, Bank of India and has unauthorisedly been returned by ICICI Bank. I had to unnecessarily pay penalty of Rs.500/- and further raise a complaint with the RBI Banking Ombuds(wo)man. L.Kalavathi Retd.
