Now that the first ever case of online ticketinng is busted , there is scope to go to the route . Immagin this is only in Chennai , what if R.P.F. and the Slueths go all out all over India.

i THINK THAT THE ONLY WAY FOR SOLUTION IS THAT RAILWAYS SHOULD REVERT TO MAKING IDS COMPULSORY WHEN BOOKING IS ALLOWED, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE BOOKING WHETHER AT IRCTC COUNTERS ON ON IRCTC WEBSITE. THIS WILL REDUCE THE CHANGE OF MANIPULATION. THE AUTHORISED TICKET AGENTS OF IRCTC, WHO HAVE PAID HIGH CHARGES SHOULD ALSO BE ALLOWED TO BOOK AT THE SAME TIME. DO REMEMBER THAT ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT RULES, FOR ONE PNR IN SLEEPER CLASS, ONLY rS 10 IS ALLOWED TO BE CHARGED AND FOR AC CLASS 20 RS IRRESPECTIVE OF THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ON ONE PNR. ON THE OTHER HAND GOVERNMENT ITSELF CHARGES A CANCELLATION PER PERSON RPT PER PERSON WHEN CANCELLING TICKET. IN TODAY'S WORD WHAT IS RS 10 ? DOES IT BUY A CUP OF TEA ANYWHERE EVEN IN DHABAS OR TEA STALLS. WHY GOVERNMENT CHARGES A CONVENIENCE FEE OF 17.7 RS AND RS 34.00 ETC. FOR WHAT PURPOSE ? WHY THEN SHOULD IRCTC AGENTS AUTHORISED CANT MAKE BOOKINGS? ALL THIS LEADS TO CORRUPTION AT ALL LEVELS AND CROWDS AT RESERVATION COUNTERS. TO REPEAT AGAIN REINTRODUCE THE SYSTEM OF TAKING THE PROPER ID CARD AND ID NUMBER, SINCE THEY CANNOT BE EASILY CHANGED .. WHICH MEANS THE UNAUTHORISED TICKET BOOKERS CAN BE CONTAINED WHILE AUTHORISED AGENTS CAN BE DEPENDED UPON. There are thousands of touts in one city, catching just 2 wont resolve the issue, the toot cause of the problem must be eliminated completely, touts when caught must be punished heavily along with imprisonment. more

Such manipulation is continued for years but surprisingly the railways miserably failed to find out an effective solution to the issue till now leaving the genuine travelers at their own fate and forcing them to approach the fraudsters for a confirmed ticket on meeting their skyrocketing demands over and above the actual fares. It clearly indicate towards the railways officials of being hands in glove with the chains of the fraudulent unauthorised ticket agents. more
