NPPA Chaitman Transfer
Seems like US lobbying bodies have been successful in getting the head of NPPA transferred. And the Govt has once again shows it favours business over consumer:
This chairman bhupendar singh was instrumental in getting prices of stent capped and was looking at doing the same for knees.
Not sure who is appointed to run NPPA now but we as citizens should continue this battle and also find a way to bust thse behind the scene lobbies of fixers in Delhi who still claim to fame their ability to get babus transferred. more

We have to develop a culture of honest in every walk of life. talking honestly, dealing honestly, always have a honest attitude. we as a community is always biased. are we ready to change, corruption ends. more

Even though I am not fully aware about the reasons behind the transfer of NPPA Chairman, yet I feel that there is little room for upright and honest officials. Every ruling party wants yes men at all key posts which help them in indulging in all sorts of illegal and un-ethical acts. The officials who adopt the policy of DO AS DIRECTED are a great success. There should be a fixed tenure of 3 years for all officials and only in cases of corruption, non-performance and indiscipline, they should be transferred pre-maturely. There should not be any consideration for caste, religion and region while appointing ad promoting officers - only merit/performance prevail. more

If Bhupinder Singh has been there in position for three years, the transfer is genuine. However, in view of the good work he has done at NPPA it would be appreciated he his tenure could be extended for two more years. Let the consumers in the market decide through his vote - appreciate or not. more

Costs of implants, devices, and medicines must be capped without compromising on their quality, availability, and upgrades. As regards the quality of their production in India meeting International Standards, I believe it is definitely possible and we must aim at it. My requests to all circle members is to a) conduct ourselves to International Standards, and b) to motivate our family, relatives, friends, and acquaintances for the same. As a nation all of us must improve our daily conduct. This approach will immensely help realize our goals in all fields. more
