NRAI's unacceptable approach

This national restaurant association of india nrai is a bunch of loosers I feel. Their VP some Rahul was telling tv anchor that we will be increasing prices now as the govt is taking away input tax credit.

Govt has reduced GST on restaurants so consumer can be motivated to spend. These guys not only are focing service charge but will now increase prices for no reason.

Someone in Govt should tighten the screws. more

Service charges should not be encouraged, it is absolutely out of law. Cost of food may increase/ decrease as per season. But hoteliers are in habit of increasing only. Govt. should take strict measures and fix the price based on Grade as it has been done in Mumbai way back in 70's. In Mumbai varoius graded hotels have to comply with many parameters as per the Grade otherwise they are penalised. more
As a prudent businessmen it wiould be wise on the part of National restaurant association of india (NRAI) to attract more customers and increase their business due to decrease in tax. If they prefer otherwise, the result will come accordingly. more
India needs regulated price mechanism based on costs. Margins every where including particularly restaurants are too high. Regulated prices of stents are burning example. more
This concept only will prevail reasonable prices of outputs . Unnecessary but HUGE expenses those disallowable under I.T. also causing 5 to 15% increase in Cost . Over and above, the margins of mediators, Wholesalers, Stockists are getting gared up making the life of general public cornered . more
This is how many businesses, traders, restaurants, etc. are working overtime to ensure that the objectives of the GST are not fulfilled and the end consumer is not benefitted. Perhaps paying taxes is difficult for those who have never done so and are, therefore, hoping to rouse negative sentiments in the minds of other citizens. None of the restaurants I frequent had reduced prices after GST. In fact one of them had increased its items' costs by Rs. 30 + gst on final bill. more
I reiterate my view, Avoid eating out for few days to teach a lesson to such unscruplous business men. I propose to stop going to restaurants one day a week especially on Sunday. more
Absolutely. This is our country and we as citizens are the biggest instruments of change. more
I agree. There's only so much that the government can do. We as citizens should also unite against such offenders and boycott them. Thats the only way to get the message across. more
Government has no willingness to impose anything on the power blocks who such associations are.It will be a fait accompli for the public to pay. more
. .try2avoid going2these kind of places, as much as possible, so that the Hoteliers should realise that their business is going down, b'cos of non-standard GST . . but e'thing will take its own time2realise . . more
