NTPC is failing us

Last year in November when PM 10 was 900 announcement was made that next year wont be as bad as NTPC will be collecting farmer stubble.

The start of a biomass plant, which will convert paddy and wheat residue into bio-coal, has fallen four months behind schedule. The private company that NTPC has contracted to set up the plant has failed to get it up and running by August and is now saying December.

My question is what do we have such bad accountability of tax payer money and promises.

We need to force NTPC to still collect the stubble and store it like immediately. They failed in getting it up and running doesnt mean they can wash away their responsibility of collecting this stubble. BEcause no collection means burn and again PM 10 of 900. more

Madam Agarwal, I appreciate your concern for Clean Air. I also appreciate your anxiety to get it as quickly as possible. Now let me correct you NTPC is not a private company rather it is public sector company. NTPC is one of few public sector companies which has paid divided right from its inception. It generates more than 1/3 of electrical energy country needs. It is Maha Ratna company. Government of India right from its inception keeps giving it all difficult tasks which no one is prepared to do. Collection of stubbles converting it in to Bio Mass and using it in Boilers to generate electricity is non remunerating uneconomical task for which NTPC is not getting any support or subsidy from GOI still it is doing it. IT is new technology and it takes time to develop and set up. Please wait. After all Rome was not built in a day. more
... indeed it takes a while plans to be actioned upon ... and patience indeed is a virtue ... NTPC surely will fulfill its promise, and I am confident it is pressuring the private entity to deliver ... I sincerely hope that there is no further delay beyond December 2018 ... Pollution is now becoming a matter of life and death in our country. Meanwhile, let us identify the names of the cities whose name requires to be changed for that is really critical for the development of our country and its people. more
There is lot of difference in acutal and bolbachchan. Mostly our leaders give Loly Pop to the public. more
you are wrong. There is always time gap between an new policy initiative and time taken to implement the same. no point in blaming an organisation who is taking steps in the right direction. Government has given mandate to NTPC and estimated time was given. Please have patience. Do not indulge in blame game against a positive organisation.G Satyamurthy more
