The points mentioned by Amit Mishra is very educative. Many advanced technologies are available, or you must have studied in books. To bring them into practical to reach our poor common man in the villages are very difficult. Yes there may be danger in case of any disaster. If we look at things like this there are many other fields to be closed. How many get affected due to alcoholism. But still we and our govt produce and sell alcohol. Is there even an iota of sincerity and trust in any of our daily dealings. I do not have faith in insurance. When the question of claiming the insurance comes then we know the real colour of the insurance companies. At the distribution stage also all type of favor comes. Any disaster is unfortunate. Even accident and death is unfortunate, due to the carelessness of some one. Innocent walking on the road side are hit and run or killed, due to rash driving on our roads. Influence, money or muscle power saves in our day to day life. So let us be vigilant and careful, so that nothing misfortune happens. more
Obama persuaded India for Nuclear Deal may not be prioritized at this moment due to exorbitant amount is involved to go for deal. The climate of India is different from US. We have plenty of rivers, natural lakes, mountain through which we may get fresh air, floats of waterfall from top to bottom & force of winds, waves from sea shore. With these greater gifts, we may divert the same capital for getting sources of energy from these natural gifts. Today, I observed the latest news that Obama is sanctioning crores of rupees for nuclear deal to Pakistan. If it is sanctioned, India and Pakistan both are their customer for nuclear deal which is dangerous to the sentiments of people of both the countries. more
Nuclear Technology is a failed technology in the west. Nuclear Plants are going to close down as there is a huge outcry against it(which Paid media Both Indian and international do not show) There has been evidence that Nuclear radiation leaks and affects people healths upto 10 miles away from the nuclear Power reactor. Then there is the biggest threat of Nuclear Disaster happening form Natural forces. We have already seen it in Japan and Germany, if there is a flood or earthquake the consequences are horrible. We do not need Nuclear power. Nuclear Companies in Western countries will have to close down soon because of these dangers that is why they are looking towards India. They want to bring their decade old reactors in "as is where is" condition to countries like India so they don't go under loss. These are already faulty setup. But they know with the corruption in India they can get away with it. But this time they are being vigilant that is why they had got Rahul gandhi to lobby for them. They wanted indemnity in case of nuclear disaster. This very demand from Nuclear companies show their agenda it is pre miditaded. It took more than 50 years in America and western countries for the public suffering from radiation get some action on Nuclear power companies. How many years do you think it will take in India. Nuclear power should be reserved for space travel purposes and at such a small scale it is not dangerous and can be managed easily. Also safety concerns will be addressed as space research is not run by a corporation who's only bottomline is profit. Nuclear power is the most environmental damaging act ever. Think about it there are Thorium and uranium deposits all over the world they are in the ground and sands and under the sea and are not disturbing anyone. But Nuclear companies are isolating it and creating a disaster. AFter you isolate it from nature it becomes a dangerous substance. Other issues are Nuclear raw material mining which is damaging to the ecology. They dig up beaches underwater sea beds for nuclear mining. We have the best alternative in India. Gujarat is the only country apart from Iceland who has potential Geo thermal sources of energy. Geo thermal mine can give energy upto 100 years. Then it can be given a break and it will start producing power again. 70% of iceland is powered through geo thermal sources of energy. India with so much Sun has good potential for Solar power. Modi has proved it in Gujarat. We can take it further there is barren land in so many places. With more development in Solar technology we will not need an alternative. Then there is wind power. The current wind power industry is a big hoax. They are being run by GE which is a company that depends heavily on Fossil fuels they only buy Wind companies to Choke any developments in wind energy. I will touch on this issue briefly. You must have heard that wind mills cannot be setup in areas with high wind. Only low wind. I asked a Suzlon Manager why and he looked at me as if he saw a ghost. They will not answer you because the reason is very simple. In High winds the huge blades of the windmill will rip apart from the mill. Is there a solution to this? You decide from the following The same problem was faced with propeller planes. They could not attain high speeds with powerful motors because their blades would rip apart too. So they created turbines. They took the blades and put then in Circular enclosure what we see in todays modern planes. The circular enclosure keeps the wings in places and allows for winds to pass through at 800 miles an hour. So why did the Wind power industry not adopt the same technology? Not only will it allow wind mills to operate at high windy areas like sea shores but also it will product more power. And the turbine design will allow for very small windmills that have the ability to produce several times more power than the traditional wind mills because they run faster. Then you can quantify that because you can put 10 turbine style windmills on one pole Now you know why the Suzlon manager was acting as if he saw a ghost and he never answered my question. more
We have always had power cuts and shortages and there is no end in sight.Let us not delve too much in nuclear energy production for there is always a chance for disaster. Why not focus our mind on free solar and wind energies that are an unending source. There is not even an inch of disaster factor here. Due to increased awareness there is bound to be reaction/opposition from the rural villages for building a nuclear plant. more
