Objectivity of amendment in motor vehicle Act
Recently the amendment in the motor vehicle Act have been brought into implementation and if we see the various videos, it is observed that the objectivity might not be for safe road usage and clean environment but something else. The Govt has come out with heavy fines for violations. Would the heavy fines deter the violators to discipline or increase the corrupt business. I will give a recent example wherein the motorist getting pollution checks at Faridabad Pollution Checking Centres were being issued pollution certificate (PUC) without even checking the pollution. Does it serve the purpose of PUC norms or it leads to the unfair business practices. Similar things have been reported in the capital also. The message s were tweeted to the concerned agencies but the practices still continuing unabated believing the amendment leading to increase the corrupt fee to be charged by the concerned by increasing the penalty payable for violations. more

Well corrupt practice by Traffic Police will continue but with higher penalties rates of corruption are bound to increase. A common person will avoid both challans and traffic fellows by driving by rule. He cannot be sure that the traffic team will be dishonest.... in that case he risks heavy challans becoming actually payable. So heavy fines will help bringing discipline on road. I do not know if road rage is also puishable under this act or not... if not then that needs to be covered with still heavier fines. more

It is quite necessary to deter people from following antilaw dangerous practices. However the type of fines imposed are perhaps too drastic. Instead a gradual system of fines would have taken some time but heart burns could be avoided. The old fines could be increased by 100 percent for first offence. Those could be further increased by 50% for each subsequent offence. more

I know you are Obsolutely right In will pave a way for more money for the police departments but at the same time why we are becoming self disciplined I am not of European countries if you go to Arabian countries you will find police actions are minimum because residents are self disciplined either because of heavy fines or because of other reasons In the country itself I have seen in Mumbai and Bangalore people are more disciplined then we north Indian more

Sir, you are absolutely right. There are so many others thing which being used as per their convenient and charging more money than one of the examples CSC centers they are more money. more
