Oct 1 deadline for confiscation of old mrp stock
Can the Govt please advise if goods with old mrp will be allowed to sell after Oct 1. The consumer dept had issued notification saying stock with old mrp and stickers will be confiscated after Oct 1 during the GST coming in. more

I believe this date is extended to 31/12/2017. Modi intends to make people tax compliant, while most want to see culprits caught en mass and punished as a sign of action. My humble belief is Modi is misunderstood. When most Indians are inclined to avoid law at the slightest of opening such an act will be counter productive. He gave long rope to people to declare wealth, kept mum when criticized on the grounds that 96% of currency had come back. Even this date kept extending. That is he calls these as trans-formative changes. He is using the data to slowly put noose around culprits. more

The consumer affairs ministry should vigorously follow up with manufacturers or importers or packers to print the new MRP including the GST on all the products that will be sold on or after 1st of Oct'17 more
