truly, this odd-even confabulation in the name of response to Pollution / air quality deterioration / health impact in Delhi citizens is a hogwash. The comparison is drawn with year 2014 as a baseline and the blame is also put on the hot weather, school managements, DTC when the pollution refuses to diminish. The "muffler man's" antics are quite reminiscent of "Tughlaq's follies"...Probably he never read history and is reinventing the wheel or "the father" more
Almost 100% people agree to one impact of odd/ even implementation: lesser congestion and reduced travel time. Most feel that travel time has reduced by about 20%. Even assuming that 100% are able to circumvent by alternate vehicle or additional car, the emission time on account of running cars gets reduced by 20% due to reduced travel time. How can then we say that there is no reduction in pollution level or polution levels have gone up? The argument by those who are opposing because of different political affiliation or some level of discomfort, is therefore illogical and unwarranted. People are not realising the extent of damage increased pollution is rsulting in, which would come to the fore at a later date in terms of ill health. more
This odd even is making a fool of people buy creating a fear. 38 % pollution is by 2 wheelers No stopping them For every 1000 people there are 80 cars in the city and a total of 456 vehicles in the city. By odd even, you are stopping 30 vehicles. Is it going to stop pollution? AK is an IIT graduate and he does not understand basic mathematics which requires a logical thinking. If AK can think logically , stop registration of new vehicles and give new registration only on proof of sale or condemnation of old vehicle Limit the no. of vehicles Improve public transportation Build more roads more
Delhi's Odd and Even policy may have surely been reported across the world, but it's nothing more than an eyewash.!!! more
Thanks Mr. Sudan for liking my comments on "Torturous", Your suggestion of ODD-EVEN on Delhi Assembly is marvelous / wonderful / well thought and I fully support it. Arun Goel more
