Giving away surplus cloths/ household items/ etc in charity is a noble idea, as most of us tend to accumulate more that what we need. I have three examples: (1) In Dubai, this has been structured well ( see www.takemyjunkuae.com/â) You make a phone call and "junk" is collected from your house. (2) I know of a person who do not keep more than 10 shirts; any time he feels like buying a new one, old shirt is given away. His servants, drivers, etc. are the beneficiary and grateful to him. (3) In New Delhi, there is organized collection of old/surplus items at Lajpat Bhawan, that are sold and proceeds help in running a NGO. more
thanks for showing interest in the good cause and we planned to donate cloths to Narayan Sewa Santhan in Rajasthan, these guys come at once locations and pick themselfs based on quantity of cloths. let me know if it works for you.
