On line reservation of railway tickets - Option to the passengers to choose their preferred berths.
At present, the IRCTC booking system allots reserved berths to the passengers based on their choice of berth preference, namely lower, middle and upper berth etc. The system generally allots berths to the passengers based on their requests. However, many a times, an aged passenger may be allotted a berth some where in the middle of the compartment or a young passenger allotted a berth in the first bay of the compartment. Instead, why not we have a system wherein the passenger is given an option to book preferred berths of their choice such as berths in the first bay, second bay or berth No. 11, 13 etc. more

This is need of time, just like in airways you get to know your seat before you book. In trains also we should get this facility. more

I am agree with the view. Sometimes old age persons get side upper bearch which are not only non-comfortable for them but also life security is also absence. more
