One breath we are trying to speed up trains and reduce travel time by introduction of high speed trains. Unless there is an optimum (say minimum 100 passengers) passenger through put, do not stop the super fast trains. It should not be taken as a prestige issue by the elected representatives. Some Airlines had introduced flights on prestige issues and they do not exist any more. We learn a lesson from them and optimise use of resources of railways. more

The inter city trains should be operating as shuttle service running not more than 300 - 400 Kms more

Instead of increasing the number of stops, Railways should run more intercity trains to bring the passengers for the super fast trains to their nearest stop. Each stoppage will result in a minimum of 15 to 25 min increase in running time. more
