One wonders why Govt. is bent upon harassing the Senior Citizens class ignoring their miseries. While sparing the corporate sector they forget elders constitute the biggest vote bank. Letters in attachment here & published in the tribune on 24th March are self explained . more

it is a hit below the belt by the finance minister in reducing interest rate on senior citizen savings scheme after announcing at budget time that the interest rate would not be touched. I am afraid there has been no strong structured reactions from senior citizens to this blow. it is high time that there is an outcry against this unjust decision. mr mohit pande pl take the lead in protesting this unkind cut. more

Basic point social security i.e. is survival of senior citizens who does not have any regular income except returns from deposits. more

Sir i agree with your view point. However if home loans and other loans are to become cheaper. Automatically the cost of interest on savings would be low. Banks if they give car and home loans at 9.5% and can't keep the rate of interest on savings at the same interest. more
