ONLINE PURCHASE

Now-a-days online purchase is much popular. FLIPKART, NAAPTOL, SNAPDEAL and many more companies are selling different products online. Consumer may purchase many items just by a click. This is beneficial to the consumer but there are several events where consumers are cheated as well. Big companies are selling different products of several companies but in the case of application of warranty terms, they throw away their responsibility. Government should frame certain rules for online purchase for the benefit of consumers. Companies selling products online should also be responsible for replacement/repairing under the warranty terms. Selling companies must provide the original invoice and a package of terms and conditions of the manufacturer company to enable consumer to act accordingly for the entitlement of warranty if any. For the benefit of consumers purchasing products online, appropriate addition/alteration should be done in the consumer act as early as possible. more

You are perfectly right! This is what happens when you purchase from a wholesaler or stockist. Actually, when it comes to online purchases you don't go to a dealer or retailer.. so, the showroom maintaining cost is cut. And, that's why you get it cheaper and choose to buy via online. It is beneficial to both, the stockist and purchaser irrespective of whether you purchase in large quantities or not. We welcome online sales due to skyrocketing high price of commercial space. But, yes, we together with the government, try to sort out Warranty and Service terms for items which are not use-and-throw. more
I purchased a mouse for my laptop online. It was mentioned in the description of the product as a wireless mouse but when it came to me it was a normal wired optical mouse. I was cheated. more
I had purchased a karbon mobile from amazon.com. When it came to servicing a complaint, I learnt that all service stations do not entertain products purchased online. Only one particular service station was assigned with the job of attending to complaints and that too a written mail was to be sent to their Ahmedabad office(I am located at Vadodara) and in turn an E-mail from that office instructing this service station was reqd. to receive service from them. All this was also not informed during the purchase. I learnt all this only when the problem was encountered. I hence agree that there are many loop holes to be plugged in on-line purchases. more
