Online request for name correction
Has anyone been able to update name thru online request which got operational in EPFO site a few weeks back ? more

I am Vivekananda.k I got my name changed in UAN Portal. one should have login ID for doing so. You login to UAN portal and go to change basic details there you amend the details required to be changed and select the which organisation present employer or previous employer and save it then it will be shown as pending with employer. Once your employer approves it it will go to Field office means to EPFO, when it approved by field office changes will effect and you can verify the same in UAN. Entire process will take approximately one month. If you have any doubt you can take my help. Thanks. more

My update is still stuck at PF Office of K R Puram office at Bangalore, not sure, how to approach them? more

I have raised it for more than 1 month, and the update is still waiting for field office's approval. Not sure, why these approvals need so many days for verification, when the UID & my details are available online. In case of UID verification for any other services, it takes not more than 5 mins.

I got my name corrected as per Aadhaar. It took about 2 weeks after employer approved. more

Another reason why mine was easier is that PAN , Aadhar all had expanded R and only UAN was different and though it was correction, it might have been easier to verify. just guessing here more

in my case, i had to expand the initial (R to Ramdas) here is what I did
1. logged on to uan portal
2. clicked on update basic detail
3. it created a 6 digit ref# saying pending with employer as status
4. I spoke to admin at employer after 3 days and got the thing moved to pending with epfo
5. after 5 days, I found the email id of EPFO where my employer usually works with, send them emails. i got no response.
6. after 7 days, i spoke to another contact at employer and asked him regarding the same ref# carefully omitting the fact that employer has approved
7. after this some thing happened. it was still pending at EPFO, but now color changed from red to black also ref# now has my employer sid prefixed to it
8. after 5 days, it got approved
I am not sure what helped my case, is it the fact that my contact at employer seems to know someone at EPFO or my mails to EPFO where no replies came or just plain luck to get right folks on phone at employer who got right folks at EPF. I think it was latter. anyway glad it is over... more

My name correction request is pending since 27th of Nov 2017I don't think this system works. more
