Today while ordering food on "Sagar Ratna" webesite, at about 1:00 PM I had an unpleasant experience. After ordering food on line and getting a discount coupon of 10% I ordered food at the cost of Rs 399 delivered to my flat. After 20 minutes the local Sagar Ratna of Vasant Kunj, New Delhi 110070. where I reside stated that the food cannot be delivered at at that rate and for delivery the cost would be Rs480/- another 20% more. Since it was already late and fortunately I had not paid on line I had to concede extra payment to obtain the food. Such attempts at charging more from the agreed online orders is bad business practice and needs to be discouraged. more
Its very simple. The eCommerce companies first show the MRP of a particular product by inflating it and than show the offer price including the amount and percentage of savings by the customers to easily sensitise them to place their orders. more
The GST rate should be mentioned near the MRP, so that the manupulation can be noticed. more
While public should report specific cases, the Dept of CA should also have their effective methodology to make check and take strong action and publicize so that the companies have fear of such Malpractices. more
Members have posted good no. of cases and it nowthe duty of ministry to act on each individual case rather than trying to understand it more. By now ecommerce sites have been warned and they will keep quite for sometimes. Such delaying tactics is detrimental to consumers interest. more
