ONLINE TAXI SERVICES OLA UBER
Sir it is very pity to note that the above major taxi riders almost alllover India keeping their identity secret.
When we book the taxi spot drive okay. But if you go for ride later rental drive or outstation trip they take our request and they inform just ten minutes before the time fixed by us. They book well in advance even upto one week as per my experience. In this case if any change on our program we are unable to contact them either to cancel the trip or reschedule the trip. In such cases we are charge ₹ 50/= for non availing the facility. Even for advance booking they charge ₹ 100/= for booking and adding in the bill.
When we do not utilize the facility they add the cancelation charges on our next trip.
They should provide the customer care contact to do our requirements. In their application site the provided one land line number and they never attened the call even over several attempts. This is another way of cheating the public.
Requesting local circles to take up the matter with the concerned authorities and to instruct the taxi providers to update their contact details with their landline /mobile number email ID as well the SMS facility to intimate them our requirements and to stop the illegal way of earning and cheating the public more

My experience with Ola/Huber is that they take a longer and often time consuming route, thereby increasing the bill , besides wasting time. Once while going from Goregaon to Andheri(East) from Western Express Highway , the driver did not take the long Jogeshwari flyover and instead took the side road with long stoppages at 2-3 signals. When questioned ,he bluntly told that they have to take the road displayed on the map. There was absolutely no traffic on the Flyover. Bill was increased from estimated 160 to 185 besides 10 min extra time. more

The service provided by the online Taxi Service like OLA or UBER is above average. In case of any difficulty, they have complaint system and it works effectively. However, the point raised by you is justified and they should give their Customer Care executive to speak in case of necessity and government can have some regulation on these services. more

We must accept failure of 'indigenous' taxi associations to discipline their constituents. It is a nightmare (as also daymare!, although such a word/phrase is yet to enter a dictionary) to get a taxi from my residence (of Kolkata) to go to Howrah Rly. Station. But with the arrival of Ola/Uber, the problem is solved to a great extent, although not totally. I had booked a Uber Taxi from Kolkata Airport at about 20:15 Hrs. on 28 Feb 2018 to go to my residence which is about 2 km North- West away from the airport. The driver told (on Phone) that he was at Lake Town (about 3 km south from the airport ) and was proceeding to Howrah Railway Station (further 15 km south west of stated location). After dropping the current occupant of his cab, he can take up my booking, i.e., at least an hours wait. If the same was not acceptable to me, I need to cancel the booking, which i declined. Almost the same situation was faced by me at Ahmedabad in the evening (at about 20:30 Hrs,) of 18th March,2018 for coming to Ahmedabad Rly. Stn. from Sector 20, Gandhi Nagar. more
