Only 1350 people to punish child rapists
I see that 1350 people have signed the petition to harshly punish child rapists

Why is this number not 135000.
Do most of us feel child rape is like any other crime and hence 5-7 years in jail is ok?
Are we embarrassed to share such a petition in our family and friends whattsapp groups?
Are we careless about these things unless it happens to someone known to us?
Come on people. Change will not come till we stand up. I am blessed to be introduced to this community and I hope all of us do our bit.

These child rape victims are often have molesters and sexual abusers in their own family. POCSO needs speedy and strict implementation so that the child victims regain their self respect Social consciousness must awaken at all fronts to curb this menace in the country. What exactly is the expectation here? that more laws and stringent ones actually will curb the violence and crime? That will only make the situation worse? What will you do when a police, lawyer, judge or politician or anyone else with lots of money commits the crime? Forget child rape, we know that these people will get away even with murder. Is it because of lack of laws or because they are subverted? Let us focus on structural reforms that do not need more and more laws. Can we talk about education which can prevent such crimes in the first place, rather than laws that deal with post fact? more
