CA JAYESH MOR,AHMEDABAD When new Government has taken charge over UPA govt, their manifesto was to control inflation and on that basis public has given vote to Narendra Modi government, that is a fundamental thing. Now to rise railway fare which is against their promises to the public and it is a cheating to the public. There are so many way to increase income of railway and not by hiking the railway fares? In short, to fulfill the promises to Indian public is more important. If the government desires to increase the fares and taxes then must come out with WHITE PAPER ... The government has lots of machinery\resources and intelligent\specialist persons in India to look after the the revenue of government. It is prime duty of government of control the inflation particularly in railway fare,petrol\diesel\gas\basic vegetables like onion, potato, green vegetables, basic food grains like-wheat, rice and dal, edible oil, public transportation charges, residence for poor public, electricity up to 250 units per month, free drinking water up to 3000 liter per month, toilets, drainage, free primary medical and primary education facility...if you control the prices of these items ,majority public get relief from the inflation...how to control the prices it is government issue...it is not the public issue...there are many ways and means to increase the revenue of government. First of all government come out with the policy that all government employee must be accountable for their work as lot of corruption prevailing in railway, education department, revenue department, defense, police, law implantation authorities, various government schemes where subsidy is involved, economic crimes, criminal track records of lot of sitting MP\MLA, corporaters, terrorism, naxalists, drug mafias, land grabbers found in many states immediate legal steps are to required and to give punishment with in in one year, In short reduce corruption level from top to bottom in govt.departments, control the inflation, make accountable to all employees for their work, to come out with WHITE PAPER about government policies...so do not go for hike in fares and taxes....it is not only remedy..! more
