Here is one of my ideas for improving Railways + Transportation in Tamil Nadu I would like to propose a model. With the PPP route, Tamil Nadu government should enter railways and lay 2 way stretch between Chennai and Kanyakumari (currently only a portion has 2 way lines). Once this is done, we can operate trains at every 30 min interval 24 hrs a day. The government can reduce all the buses coming into Chennai and divert them to nearest railway stations as feeder service. I feel the economic + environment advantage is huge. This reduces the # of buses coming into Chennai. No need of new bus stands etc. As well, it provides a very good and economical travel experience. This is an integrated development approach Vs simply investing in new buses which nerve solves the problem. Sir, a.Improving customer service in Govt.office. Staff members to report at office in time and be in present in the seat during office hours,irrespective of cadre There must be facility at the Reception to make a record of the purpose for the customer visiting the office. Also the customer should be properly directed by the Receptionist or any official assigned with the job. The relevant dept should take action immediately/acknowledge or respond/reply preferably in writing/assure the customer to settle the matter as allowed by the rules and provisions of law within a specified time. b.Transformation of Railways Surprise/ sporadic checking to book ticketless travellers to be carried out in close intervals around the clock. Passengers at Platform, ordinary coaches and also sometime in reserved coaches must be checked for proper tickets. Goods booking: Apart from freight, the customer has to shell out 'extra' for timely loading and delivery. Vigilance in this area is necessary. There must be continous supply of water in the 'toilets/wash' during train journey/running train. Arrangement to stop littering/throw garbage inside the train/tracks/station premises must be done to keep the entire railway premises clean. Some official in each station should be made 'accountable' to ensure this. c.Hygeine and sanitation Miilions are living without proper toilet/Primary Health centre/clean drinking water source in most parts of U.P, Bihar, Orissa, Parts of W.Bengal,Chattisgarh,Jharkand, M.P etc. Alongwith Govt. Machinery , various social welfare voluntary organisations may also come forward to set up/construct/Toilets one each for a house sharing the cost by the govt. and SWOs., one Primary health centre should be set up in each village with a responsible Doctor and Nurse attending 365 days a year Assistance from social welfare organisations be sought to procure medicines from Doctors/hospitals/pharmaceutical firms for distribution in these PHCs. Local people should be educated for a clean and eco-friendly environment. Hundreds of social welfare organisations(e.g.Sangh Parivar has many Social welfare organisations) working in India can be requested to massively associate to improve the quality of life in tribal/backward villages. Equal importance to construct/set up a source of clean drinking water such as 'Wells', Bore wells, water Tanks one each in a village expeditiously. entrusting to maintain the asset by ward/pachayat officials responsibly more
